In general elections 2013, political parties and independent candidates started to submit nomination papers to the Election Commission . In the 2008 in general election as an independent candidate from NA-259 was Syed Nasir Ali Shah who participated and succeeded in reaching the National Assembly. However, for the 2013 elections Alamdar Road Unit NA 259, Abdul Khaliq Hazara and Raza Wakil submitted nominations papers before and now former MPA Dr. Ruqayya Hashmi also submitted nominations Paper from NA-259.
