The slogan of HAZARA SOCIAL MEDIA WORKSHOP.
GIVING VOICE TO VOICELESS:
Who’s hosting?
Markaz-e-Talimi wa Farhangi-e-Ummat is a Non-Profit Educational and Cultural Non-Governmental Organization that started in early 1980's and continues to serve the Pakistan-Quetta Society in general and Hazara community in particular in the fields such as Schooling and Higher Education consultation. Ummat with no exclusive political or religious goals aims at improving the level of education and social awareness through educational and intellectual activities. The e
vent on 18th August is strictly in pursuit of the same goal of bringing more social awareness among the community members.
Why this Workshop?
With the slogan of "Giving Voice to Voiceless", this "Workshop on Social Networking" is aimed at empowering the youth for effective advocacy skills so that the widely used social networks such as Youtube, Skype and especially Facebook could be better used constructively for a collective cause of resisting the ongoing genocide of the Hazara community in Quetta, Balochistan. In addition, activists from Ummat and Hazara community have strongly felt the absence of fellow activists on another strong social networking website, i.e. Twitter that, we believe, has more space for non-violent struggle in pursuit of Peace, Social Justice and harmony due to its capacity for intellectual activities, better outreach to journalists and politicians and human rights advocates.
