We have observed that very talented students have started changing their fields of study after their undergrad degrees. Upon asking, we have found that they make wrong choices while initially deciding for their undergrad study fields. They remain unaware of what their interests are at that time. We perceive this is due to the lack of relevant information and guidance.
Similarly, students from Matric, Intermediate and Bachelor (B.Com/B.A/B.Sc) classes face huge problems when it comes to choosing colleges and universities for further studies. In addition to that, they find it difficult to decide the field of study they wanted to go for. They find nobody to contact and ask for guidance. Most of their parents are not so educated and are unable to help their children.
Keeping all these factors in view, we intensely feel the need for regular career counselling programs. For that we have set the following objectives.
Objectives of Career Counselling Project:
To connect students with their relevant mentors that can assist them in evaluating their career opportunities and enable them to see the bigger picture of their desired career.
To provide students with a platform where they can ask questions from the persons in their relevant fields.
To give vision and encourage students for professional careers.
To assist students in making informed decisions and to provide them with the set of information and skills necessary for managing their own career as they grow into their profession.
To provide effective information regarding their interested fields and respective institutions, and continuously update with changes.
To develop required set of skills to improve academic performance and prepare students for the changing world of work and service.
To enhance number of professionals in our community that subsequently give morale support to upcoming students.
